I live in Fairfield Iowa, a small town of 10,000 people, about 80 minutes door-to-door to the nearest sushi restaurant (in Iowa City). I lived in big cities all of my life, but after I moved here in 1996 I discovered I like living in a small town. There is an economic downside, since there are fewer jobs to choose from. But my quality-of-life has improved dramatically.
